Using shootings of police officers to justify budget increase

http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/76340.html  It seems the police have contempt for the public except at budget time.  According to the Dept of Labor stats, being a cop doesn't even rank in the top ten of the most dangerous professions.
